Rebecca & Allen’s Wedding
My name is Nicholas Hill and I have been providing Rowhill Grange Photography for many years. Rowhill Grange is a luxury hotel set in beautiful grounds near Dartford. When I first met with Rebecca and Allen I immediately knew their choice of venue was a perfect match for the this busy London couple. I was even impressed with how the family Tartan matched the beautiful yellows and greens on the wedding day.
Rebecca & Allen’s Thoughts
“We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to capture the best day of our lives – in both Nick and his colleague, Matthew. They played a key role in helping the day go to plan – including sending someone running for the confetti at the critical moment when they saw it was missing! Our guests all commented on how great they were, capturing all the special moments of friends and family celebrating. Most of all, their photos are stunning, reminding us not only of how the day looked but how it felt too, from nervous beginning to beautiful ceremony and such a fun evening, dancing the night away. They helped us to create lasting memories that we’ll be able to share with generations to come (starting with the baby now on the way!). They perfectly captured every special moment of our incredible day and for that we can’t thank them enough.”
I always begin my Rowhill Grange Photography by spending time with the bridal details. The wedding dress, shoes and flowers are an important part of the day for every bride. If the weather is nice I like to take these outside and photograph them in the beautiful surrounds of Rowhill Grange.
I was very excited at the prospect of working in the brand new bridal suite at Rowhill Grange Photography. Rebecca was one of the very first brides to have access to this dedicated bridal prep suite. It was a massive improvement over the use of the clock tower. The bride is able to get ready away from the public areas.
Rebecca had employed the services of a professional hair and makeup artist. I think it so important for a bride to be able to relax and enjoy the day without having do her own makeup. The profession look is always so impressive.
Rebecca was getting ready with her two bridesmaids and Mother. The bridal party was ready in plenty of time to ensure they would look great in the photographs whilst help Rebecca to get dressed.
I find that my Rowhill Grange Photography works best when I concentrate on the later stages of bridal prep. The final touches of makeup, dress and shoes are the pictures that every wedding bride treasures most.
Allen was a confident and proud Scotsman who was always going to be wearing the family Tartan. The groomsmen were in match Kilts and collectively they looked great.
Matthew spent the morning with Allen and the boys focusing on the Rowhill Grange Photography as the boys got dressed. The little details are also so important such as photographing the buttonholes.
One of the reasons for choosing an outdoor ceremony is dos good the Rowhill Grange Photography looks. The lush green gardens are beautiful manicured with a lovely gazebo for the ceremony to be conducted.
On a warm early summers day there is surely no place better to be married. Allen waited patiently which Rebecca was escorted through the gardens and down the aisle.
Our wedding photography coverage benefits from being able to move freely. The outdoor space allows us to position ourselves around the grounds and capture the ceremony from a range of different and interesting perspectives.
After the ceremony concluded the couple walked hand in hand through the gardens to where the champagne reception was waiting for the guests. As the guests drank champagne and congratulated the newly married couple we took many candid Rowhill Grange Photography moments.
It is always nice when we can move freely during the reception taking pictures of the guests laughing and chatting totally unaware of the camera.
Due to the very strong sun it was necessary for the formal Rowhill Grange Photography to be carefully positioned in the shade of the nearby trees. Rebecca and Allen had provided in advance of the wedding a list of the formal pictures they required. I took advantage of the helpful ushers who help to gather the necessary people for each portrait. This is a great way of ensuring that couples spend as much time as possible enjoying the reception and not waiting for their photography.
I always try to ensure we take a picture of all your wedding guests. Rowhill Grange Photography works well from the clock tower. As the wedding party makes their way to the breakfast room I am able to take a large group picture without costing any extra time.
The surrounding grounds are perfect for a couple’s Rowhill Grange Photography. During the middle of the day the sunlight is too harsh for flattering portraits. I like to take advantage of the soft shaded wooded area’s and covered walkways.
Rebecca and Allen were very comfortable in front of the camera. The couple had taken advantage of a pre wedding session where they were able to learn a few tips and tricks for improving their portraits.
The wedding speeches are a big part of our Rowhill Grange Photography. It is so important that Matthew and I are ready and in place to take advantage of the se precious moments. Rebecca and Allen chose to have their speeches after the meal. It also happened to be Rebecca’s birthday too!
The Father of the Bride is responsible for getting the speeches off to a good start. I like to ensure that I am always covering the speaker and top table reactions whilst Matthew is concentrating on the reactions from the guests.
First Dance & Cake Cutting
Rebecca and Allen followed a very traditional route and chose to have their cake cut immediately followed by a first dance. Rowhill Grange Photography certainly looks good when the lights are dimmed and the couple take to the dance floor.
During the course of the evening Matthew and I take it in turns on the dance floor camera in hand. It is always very good fun when guests start to let their hair down with a bit of funky dancing. We even get treated to some great moves occasionally.
