Fabrizia & Andre’s Wedding
There is nothing more special for a bride and groom than the expectations of their wedding day and the beauty of the venue they have chosen to express their love for one another in front of their friends and loved ones.
When I arrive at Nonsuch Mansion one of the first things I do is ensure the details are photographed. The wedding dress, shoes and bouquets are very important. By photographing these straight away they are then available for the bridal party as soon as they are ready for them.
Bridal Preparation is a very important part of the day. It is the first time that the bride will have seen me in a while, so it is important to reestablish their trust in me. Part of my job is to help keep the day on schedule and that starts with bridal prep. By spending a couple of hours with the bridal party I am able to make sure that I have plenty of time to photograph the dresses, shoes and flowers. I like to focus a good amount of time with the bridesmaids as they will not have met me before now. Bridal Prep establishes the opening for all my wedding stories and so important for me as a wedding photographer at Nonsuch Mansion.
Groom Preparation will vary according the circumstances and requirements of the groom. As a wedding photographer I believe it is important to tell both sides of the story leading up to the wedding itself. I always ensure my second photographer joins the Groom. I particularly enjoy the pictures of the groom in the final stages of preparation, typically button holes and cufflinks make for great pictures. The groom has an important part in greeting the guests as they arrive at Nonsuch Mansion. These are the pictures that all brides enjoy as they were not present for this part of the day.
The wedding ceremony is the most important part of the day. It is the reason everyone has gathered together and something to be enjoyed by everyone. I will always use the natural light of a wedding venue to photograph the ceremony. The benefit of two photographers mean that we can capture the wedding from two different perspectives which elevates the images we are able to deliver for Fabrizia & Andres. I always try to ensure we capture the first reaction of the groom as he see’s his bride for the first time.
The wedding reception is when the benefit of two photographers really proves useful. It allows myself and my second photographer to be in two places at once. Typically Matthew will cover the wedding guests as they enjoy champagne and canapés. I will focus my time and attention on the formal family pictures and then the portraits with the Fabrizia & Andres. The photographs that my second photographer captures of your guests are often some of the most cherished as they allow Fabrizia & Andres to relive parts of the day they were not there to see.
Formal photography is the time during reception when I am able to capture the family pictures. These are the more more formalised pictures of bride and groom with different members of the family on both sides. It is nice to be able to have these images as it is not often the whole family get together and all looking smart.
Portraits are an important part of the work I produce for my Fabrizia & Andres. I believe these to be the images that show a Fabrizia & Andre looking their most beautiful in the context of their wedding day. I am very conscious about tailoring my portraiture to the needs of each Fabrizia & Andre. I always keep it natural and ensure the bride and groom are really comfortable. I always include a pre-shoot for my Fabrizia & Andres, this allows them to feel comfortable and learn a few techniques before the wedding day. Often if the weather is good I will offer Fabrizia & Andres the opportunity to have a second portrait session at sunset or night depending on how adventurous they would like to be.
The Breakfast Room
The wedding venue and breakfast room is such an important part of the choices made by a bride and groom. I always ensure that my second photographer is ready to photograph the details at Nonsuch Mansion the moment the room is ready for the guests but before they are seated. These images are so important as the Fabrizia & Andre will often not get a chance to see the room prior to being introduced to their seated guests.
For us as photographers we find the speeches are a very special opportunity to capture the moments and reactions perfectly. Great wedding speeches will produce tears, laugher, and a little well placed embarrassment at the grooms expense. Working with a second photographer allows me to ensure that I can focus on the top table whilst Matthew captures the reactions of the guests.
First Dance & Cake Cutting
In the evening I am of the opinion that Nonsuch Mansion becomes even more grand. It is very easy to appreciate the warmth of the decor. I ensure that the lighting we use at night complements the ambience of the occasion and we are able to capture the romance whilst still ensuring the bride and groom are perfectly illuminated. I do enjoy the tradition of the Father and Daughter dance too.
As a photographer I do enjoy staying a little later into the evening. It allows us to capture the joy of everyone letting their hair down and having a good dance. Nonsuch Mansion can accommodate small bands very well too. There is something very special about live music. The acoustics are perfectly suited to a band.
