Emma & Grant's Wedding

“I am always excited when I meet a couple for the first time. It is always nice to listen to them discuss their wedding plans. It is great when a couple come to you with a new venue you have never covered. My interest is peeked by the opportunity to do some new. Buxted Park Hotel Photography was a huge success and one of the nicest weddings I have had the privilege to cover.

Buxted Park Hotel is a stunning country house, it is a perfect wedding venue situated in the heart of the Sussex countryside, surrounded by amazing parkland.”

Emma & Grant's Thoughts

Testimonial

From the engagement shot to the last shot on our big day Nick pitched everything perfectly. Neither of us like being photographed but Nick knew exactly how to put us at ease and capture candid, natural shots. The end results were fantastic and so many people have commented on them. We can’t praise or recommend Nick highly enough! In fact, one of the bridesmaids thought he was so good she booked him for her wedding!

Getting Ready

Wedding Details

When I arrived at Buxted Park Hotel one of the first things I do is ensure the details are photographed. The wedding dress, shoes and bouquets are very important. By photographing these straight away they are then available for the bridal party as soon as they are ready for them. The use of mirrors and 4 poster beds help when framing the details.

Bridal Preparation

The Bride

The bridal suite is perfect for Buxted Park Hotel Photography and with the use of an adding room there was plenty of space for Emma and her bridesmaids to get ready in. Emma even had an increasingly popular bridesman!

When I arrived Emma explained that the wedding dress had not been seen by anyone other than her Mother. This meant that when Emma had her first reveal I captured the reactions of everyone.

Emma ensured her bridal prep started in good time which ensured that the Buxted Park Hotel Photography I produced was not rushed. We were able to take out time with each stage ensuring Emma got to spend a good amount of time with her bridesmaids, and men too!

Groom Preparation

The Groom

Grant arrived at the venue with plenty of spare time. It meant that himself and his groomsmen were able to finalise the little details that were so important to the couple. Matthew joined the boys and ensured that the Buxted Park Hotel Photography we captured of the boys was very relaxed and informal.

The Ceremony

Buxted Park Hotel Photography really benefits from such a wonderful and imposing venue. Emma and Grand opted for an outdoor wedding ceremony which looked spectacular. Myself and Matthew were able to move around the outside space freely. We photographed the wedding from many different angles and perspectives.

Emma and Grant got married on the large steps of the hotel which provides a great view for all the guests who were seated in the gardens. I was very impressed by Grant who took advantage of a full display sweeping first kiss with his new wife Emma.

The Reception

The beautiful grounds are perfect for Buxted Park Hotel Photography of the wedding reception. All the guests were able to mingle around the gardens. There were many outdoor games for people to play and the drinks flowed.

Matthew and I like to circulate the grounds and capture the reactions of the guests chatting and laughing. It is nice to follow the bride and groom at a distance too. It means we are able to photograph the guests congratulating them without being imposing on the moment.

it is lovely when a couple view their images for the first time and remark on not realising we had been there to capture various moments.

The Formals

The steps around the grounds allow for great flexibility when staging the formal group shots. Buxted Park Hotel Photography benefits from being able to position people according to where the sun is to ensure everyone is comfortable for the formal pictures.

Emma and Grant wanted a shot with all their friends in which everyone struck a pose, it is one of the most fun formal pictures I have taken to date.

The Portraits

Immediately after the ceremony I took Emma and Grant around the grounds. Buxted Park Hotel Photography is very fortunate to have access to such beautiful and varied grounds.

It is always a good idea to take advantage of the conditions, especially if it is uncertain if it may rain. In the end Emma and Grant took advantage of two portrait sessions.

After the wedding breakfast the clouds started to clear and it became clear we could go out at sunset. It is truly one of my favourite parts of the wedding when we get out for sunset photography.

Emma and Grant were so happy with the opportunity we got to get outside for golden hour photography when the light is soft, warm , and directional.

One of the best Buxted Park Hotel Photography shots is taken down by the ponds at sunset where the couple can be reflected in the water.

Wedding Speeches

The emotions of a wedding speech can be truly a powerful thing. Emma and Grant were full of emotion at the beauty of the day, this came through in spades.

The breakfast room at Buxted Park Hotel Photography benefits from beautiful drapes which gives the room a bright and airy feel in the summer months.

First Dance & Cake Cutting

In the evening the ballroom at Buxted Park Hotel Photography elevates. Emma and Grant put a great deal of thought into their beautiful pink colour scheme. The quality of the uplighting and dance floor provided a perfect backdrop.

During the cake cutting Emma decided to do a great impression of Psycho. It was clear that Emma and Grant had practiced a well choreographed first dance.

Disco

InEvening dancing is a chance for everyone to let their hair down and have a good time with their friends and family. It is not often that we get to dance with our Gran or your new Mother-in-Law.
